Cádiz is a lovely city to visit in December, when the historic streets take on a festive atmosphere, Christmas lights illuminate the old town and cafés and tapas bars continue to draw people out into the squares. The celebrations begin in late November and continue through Christmas, New Year and the arrival of the Three Kings in January.

A winter visit offers a different perspective on Cádiz from the busy summer months. You can explore the historic centre, enjoy seasonal Spanish sweets, browse the Christmas market and walk along the Atlantic seafront, with plenty of opportunities to stop for a coffee or a leisurely lunch along the way.
I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain. My articles contain affiliate links that will help you reserve a hotel, bus, train or activity in the area. You don’t pay more, but by using them you do support this website. Thankyou!
