Plaza de San Juan de Dios is one of the most important public spaces in the historic centre of Cádiz. Facing the waterfront and surrounded by some of the city’s most important buildings, the plaza has been at the heart of Cádiz for centuries. Its unusual shape reflects its long history, dating back to the 16th century when the area was closely connected with the city’s trade with the Americas.
