November brings a major Spanish music festival to Cádiz city, a busy cruise schedule, autumn nature activities and developments affecting visitors exploring the white villages. Here are six stories worth knowing about if you’re planning a visit to Cádiz province this month.
Cádiz expects around 72,000 cruise passengers in November
Cádiz is expecting approximately 72,000 cruise passengers across 37 scheduled ship calls during November, according to figures reported by Europa Press at the end of October.

The forecast is higher than the more than 63,000 passengers recorded in November 2025, although fewer cruise calls are scheduled this year. Around half of November’s expected passenger traffic was forecast for the first week of the month.
These figures are estimates rather than final passenger numbers, but they indicate another busy month for the city’s cruise port.

Festival de Cádiz brings Spanish music to the city
13–23 November 2026
The 24th Festival de Cádiz: Música Española takes place across the city from 13 to 23 November, with 35 concerts scheduled and 20 works due to receive their premieres.

This year’s festival coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of Manuel de Falla, the composer born in Cádiz in 1876. The programme explores his legacy alongside contemporary Spanish music, flamenco, jazz, electronic music and other styles.
The opening concert, by O Sister!, takes place on 13 November at the Teatro del Títere La Tía Norica. Other performances and activities are scheduled at venues across the city.

Mushroom and mycology days return to Los Barrios
13–15 November 2026
Los Barrios hosts the 13th Jornadas Micológicas del Estrecho from 13 to 15 November, bringing together mushroom enthusiasts and specialists for talks, identification activities and outings into the surrounding countryside.

The programme combines scientific and educational sessions with practical field activities. On Saturday 14 November, participants will head into the countryside around Los Barrios, with groups visiting areas including Valdeinfierno, El Palancar, San Carlos del Tiradero and Las Majadillas.
Anyone interested in participating should check the organisers’ programme for registration arrangements and the conditions for joining the field activities. The event should not be taken as permission to collect mushrooms independently throughout the natural park.

Road repairs between El Gastor and Setenil de las Bodegas
Repairs to eight damaged sections of the CA-9113 between El Gastor and Setenil de las Bodegas were reported to be nearing completion at the end of October.

If you’re planning a longer drive through the area, our sister site, Grazalema Guide, has a guide to the white villages and scenic driving routes of the Sierra de Grazalema.
The work follows damage caused by the winter storms, with repairs covering sections of the carriageway, retaining structures and safety barriers. The Diputación de Cádiz expected the eight sections to return to normal conditions during November. One location near kilometre 1.5 requires a separate project, although light vehicles had been allowed through since early October.
Because the work was still progressing when the announcement was published, check the latest road conditions before travelling rather than assuming that all repairs have been completed.

New initiative promotes Cádiz’s Camino de Santiago routes
The Diputación de Cádiz has announced Caminos de Lux, a promotional initiative covering three pilgrimage routes that begin in the province: the Vía Augusta, Vía Serrana and Vía del Estrecho.

The routes offer different starting points and landscapes, from Cádiz city and the Campo de Gibraltar to the countryside and white villages inland. The Vía Augusta connects Cádiz with Seville, while the Vía Serrana passes through the white villages before joining the wider network of pilgrimage routes. The Vía del Estrecho starts in Algeciras and forms part of a much longer journey towards Santiago de Compostela.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of these existing routes, encourage their conservation and make information about them more accessible. It does not mean that three new trails have opened.

Plans to reopen Cádiz’s Cuevas de María Moco
The Cuevas de María Moco, an unusual part of Cádiz’s underground heritage, could become accessible to visitors again for a longer period following interest in a temporary opening in September.

The caves attracted considerable interest during that earlier opening, but access is complicated by their location within facilities belonging to the Spanish Navy’s Hydrographic Institute.
In October, local reporting indicated that the city intended to arrange further access in cooperation with the Navy. The mayor confirmed that the decision to reopen the caves had been taken, but no new opening date or visitor arrangements had been announced at the time of the report.
The caves are therefore one to watch rather than an attraction to add to a November itinerary just yet. Anyone hoping to visit should wait for an official announcement before making plans.
